Procedure on Race Day

  • Check-in at the Curling Club at least 1 hour prior to your race time.
  • You will receive your T-Shirt, Race Number, and Timing Chip. You will also sign the waiver.
  • Report to the Pool Marshal at least 30 minutes before your heat (there are areas on the pool deck to wait - but please stay out of the way of racers)
  • Please be sure your bike is in proper working order prior to race day - this is YOUR responsibility! Check your brakes, seat and handlebars (I speak from experience having had a nasty experience with a loose seat part).
  • Helmets are MANDATORY - ANSI, SNELL, or CSA approved
  • Let's be safe out there!

Race Waiver

You will be required to sign a race waiver when you receive your race packet. No Waiver, No Race. Sorry folks - its the times we live in!

Parking

Parking is available behind the Curling Club, Post Office, Court House, or side streets. Overflow is west of the pool as the bikes go south, and runners go east. Parking on the race route increases the likelihood of damage to your "ride".

Timing and Results

This is a chip timed race provided by STARTLINE TIMING - the most accurate timing possible. You will receive your CHIP when you check in on race day. Follow their instructions and make sure you wear your chip and cross the appropriate mats:

Swim - from the start until out of pool
Bike - from the edge of pool until off the bike and out of transitions area
Run - from transition to end of race
Results will be found following the race at: www.startlinetiming.com

Teams

We love teams. It is up to you how you will exchange the chip. Just remember it must be worn around the ankle.

Water/Medical

There will be water at the bike turns and every 2 km on the run. We have first aiders and EMT's at various points along the route. (We hope not to use them.)

A Couple of Notes:

  1. We do get trains. Don't argue with them! Obey the volunteers at the tracks. You can use this time to rest.

  2. Flat tires happen. The route is checked before the race for areas of concern. It would be good advice to learn how to change a tire before meeting the real experience.
